Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that provides therapists another tool to tackle stubborn, chronic tendinopathy. By creating a series of acoustic wave pulsations, therapists are able to apply this pressure to a localized treatment area. This technology has been proven successful in the study of treatment of chronic conditions. After an assessment with a therapist to determine if you are a candidate for this treatment, a treatment program will be designed that is suited for your condition which can range between 3 and 6 weeks.
How can shockwave therapy help?

Shockwave therapy is beneficial for patients that have had minimal response to traditional forms of treatment. It is most suited for patients living with chronic (ie. greater than six weeks) tendinopathies that could be a result of sport, overuse or repetitive strain and is most commonly used for fast pain relief and mobility restoration. By triggering the bodies natural healing responses, studies have shown a quick recovery time in patients without the need for painkillers.

Who can benefit from shockwave therapy?

Shockwave therapy can be beneficial to patients with the following conditions:

Feet – heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis
Elbow - tennis and golfers elbow
Shoulder – calcific tendinosis of rotator cuff muscles
Knee – patellar tendonitis
Leg – shin splints, iliotibial band friction syndrome
Shoulder – calcific tendinosis of rotator cuff muscles

Medical acupuncture is a modern treatment approach founded in concepts of neurology, anatomy and physiology. While the same needles and points are used as in traditional acupuncture, points needled are anatomically and neurologically connected to your specific source of pain. Medical acupuncture has been shown to have beneficial results by inducing muscle relaxation, modulating pain, altering your neuroendocrine responses and changing your autonomic activity (fight or flight response) resulting in an overall relaxation and a feeling of well-being. Various studies have proven that acupuncture stimulates the release of endorphins, which are the body’s natural pain-relieving neurohormones. Acupuncture affects the functioning of the hormonal system, promotes a decrease in inflammation, increases circulation and provides relief from pain.

Matrix Repatterning is a subtle yet profound therapy that uses structural and bioelectric assessment to identify core injuries. The shape of the body is maintained by a balance of tension across its entire structure, like one continuous interconnected fabric. When one area of the body has an injury, it can affect other areas, causing restrictions and compensation in those other areas. These restrictions include bioelectric changes that can disrupt the flow of energy in the body and impede function. Over a series of sessions, using gentle manual therapy applied to the deeper structures of the body, Matrix Repatterning removes these restrictions, like peeling away the layers of an onion. Matrix Repatterning is beneficial for both acute and chronic injuries. It can increase function, reduce pain and positively influence other systems of the body. Here are some of the conditions that can be treated with Matrix Repatterning:
-concussion and post-concussion symptoms
-neck and shoulder pain
-scoliosis
-sciatic pain
-lower back, hip and knee pain
-trigeminal neuralgia
-foot and ankle pain
-wrist and hand pain
-menstrual pain
-TMJ disorders
